Self-funded postdocs and PhD students - Institute of Physiology - Münster, Germany

Self-funded postdocs and PhD students are welcome to apply for positions in my research group at the Institute of Physiology II, Medical Faculty of Münster University in Germany.

 

Potential research areas are:

·         Molecular cell biology: Nuclear envelope and nuclear pore complexes

·         Nanomedicine: Breaking the nuclear pores barrier for non-viral gene therapy

·         Developmental biology and pathophysiology: Development of the peripheral nervous system, inflammatory demyelination peripheral neuropathies, and most recently

·         Cancer: Roles of nuclear pores in cancer.

Other research areas may be considered and applicants are free to suggest their own research projects.

 

Interested PhD students ( DAAD Stipend ) should contact Prof. Dr. Shahin before April 1st 2016 (DAAD deadline to submit the documents are end of September). Applicants should consider that the submission procedure requires several steps to complete. Final decision of the DAAD is around 6 months after submission.

 

Interested Postdocs are encouraged to apply to the Humboldt fellowship (for more information click here) for postdoctoral research for financial support. Candidates will be given large guidance and support in preparing the scholarship/fellowship applications.

 

A strong biophysical background is favourable.
